Earlier this month, we received a first listen of Björk‘s new Biophilia project. In a video posted to her Facebook page, the Icelandic songstress revealed a glimpse of track ‘Crystalline’ accompanied by the following:
hi, björk here, i guess it’s time to let you know about my first song off biophilia: crystalline. it will appear towards end of june!
The vid titled ‘Road To Crystalline’ featured Björk herself cruising an Icelandic freeway.
Today, we’ve been blessed with the entire track (below). Sporting cosmic sounds and a wicked ending, it’ll remain with you long after a listen.Vodpod videos no longer available.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of checking out Björk’s trippy, astronomical new website, get onto it now! Dubbed a multimedia project for good reason, Biophilia will also be released in the form of a smart phone app. Tracks will each have an interactive element. The song ‘Virus’, for example, will be accompanied by a game of sorts whereby a group of cells will be attacked by a virus (no doubt) to represent: “a kind of a love story between a virus and a cell. And of course the virus loves the cell so much that it destroys it.”
Stay tuned for more Biophilia tracks along with a release date.
